Prospect Research Internship

Department: Development
Reports to: Senior Director, Strategy and Development

Ideal Qualifications:

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is seeking an intern to provide opportunities to learn how to create, maintain, and update donor prospect research while having exposure to other development-related activities (including membership fulfillment, major gift donations, grants and sponsorships by corporations and foundations, donor relations, reporting, and special events).

The Intern will primarily work with the Coordinator of Research and Development Systems, but will also have the opportunity to interact with other members of the Development team and other departments across the organization.

The objective of this internship is to gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional setting in a world class performing arts organization. Kimmel Center, Inc. will provide on-the-job training that integrates education, career development, and professional growth. Internships may also be part of an educational program in which students can receive academic credit from their college/university. This is an unpaid internship that will take place Monday through Friday for 20 hours per week (exact hours to be determined, course credit available).

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; strong writing skills
  • Database experience and skills are a plus
  • Ability to multitask and work well collectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail
  • Am interest in working in the performing arts and/or non-profit environment
