Overview

Silent Film with Organ
Peter Richard Conte, organ

Depicting a highly stylized, futuristic city where a beautiful and cultured utopia exists above a bleak underworld populated by mistreated workers, Fritz Lang's 1927 German masterpiece Metropolis set the tone for all science fiction and fantasy films that followed. See this classic film in a new light with LIVE accompaniment on the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ.

Get Personal with the Organ! Post-show, join us onstage for Organ Pumps as the organ's powerful vibrations tremble through the wood floor and the entire hall!

"Metropolis does what many great films do, creating a time, place and characters so striking that they become part of our arsenal of images for imagining the world." —Roger Ebert
