Sara Tavares' new album, Xinti ("Feel It") is suffused with her signature brand of "sunshine soul." Brimming with Cape Verdean guitar licks, Angolese rhythms, and warm Portuguese vocals, she has never sounded more intense. Lyrical, sensual, and textured, her songs are intimate but also wrapped in irresistibly funky rhythms drawn from the West African Diaspora. Tavares explores themes of love—both spiritual and human—in a grooving live show.
