2010 Teen Summer Arts Camp will be held on the following dates:

    Chamber Camp
  • Choral/Vocal camp June 21 – July 2
  • Jazz Camp July 6 – July 16
  • Pipe Organ Camp June 28 – July 9
  • Chamber Music Camp July 19 – July 30
All sessions will be held in the Kimmel Center from 10am - 4pm. All accepted teen musicians will receive scholarships to attend. See below for a full camp description.

Vocal/Choral Camp
2010 Camp Auditions
Pre-registration is required, see above.

Choral/Vocal Camp
  • Saturday, May 1 , 1pm - 3pm
    Merck Arts Education Center
    Demonstrate vocal technique & sight reading, as well as sustain a vocal part within a choral selection chosen by the conductor.

    Jazz Camp
  • Saturday, May 8, Noon - 3pm
    Merck Arts Education Center
    Within a group setting, perform music selected by the conductor and respond to the requested musical directions.

    Chamber Music Camp
  • Saturday, May 15, 1pm - 4pm
    Merck Arts Education Center, Innovation Studio and Rendell Room
    Each applicant must prepare a classical music solo that demonstrates technical ability and musicality.

    Pipe Organ Camp
  • By Teacher Recommendation
    Pipe Organ students must submit an audition CD along with a letter of recommendation from their teacher no later than May 15, 2010 to Teen Summer Arts Camp, Kimmel Center, Inc., 260 S. Broad Street, Suite 901, Philadelphia, PA 19102.


    Camp Description


    Jazz Camp
    Student artists spend ten intense days developing their artistic and creative skills with highly respected teaching artists from the performing arts community. The two-week arts sessions culminate with solo and ensemble demonstrations — "Moments of Sharing" — on Friday afternoons.

    Program Features:

    Pipe Organ Camp
    Session Descriptions
    • Choral/Vocal (ages 14 - 18)
      Students study vocal technique, theory, diction, sight-singing and choral works spanning various styles, and genres including musical theatre.

    • Jazz (ages 14 - 18)
      Students study various styles of jazz music including Dixieland, Swing, Afro-Cuban and Contemporary and perform in large and small ensembles.

    • Chamber Music (ages 14 - 18)
      Students study various genres of chamber music in small and large ensemble settings.
