Teen Summer Arts Camp 2012

Camp Description


Jazz Camp
Student artists spend ten intense days developing their artistic and creative skills with highly respected teaching artists from the performing arts community. All sessions will be held in the Kimmel Center Mon - Fri from 10am - 4pm. The two-week arts sessions culminate with solo and ensemble demonstrations — "Moments of Sharing" — on Friday afternoons.

Chamber Music Camp
Session Descriptions
  • Choral/Vocal (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study vocal technique, theory, diction, sight-singing and choral works spanning various styles, and genres including musical theatre.

  • Jazz (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study various styles of jazz music including Dixieland, Swing, Afro-Cuban and Contemporary and perform in large and small ensembles.

  • Chamber Music (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study various genres of chamber music in small and large ensemble settings.

  • Pipe Organ (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study various pieces from the Pipe Organ repertoire, along with technique and pedagogy; both one on one with instructor as well as in a group setting.
